Quotes

Long and racy, with crunchy acidity driving concentrated baked apples and citrus, underscored by an attractive autolytic complexity.

Decanter Panel, Gold, 95 points

Zinging with citrus, mainly lemons and tangerines, with some richer depth of clotted cream and light custard-cream biscuits; real finesse and elegance here from Ulrich Hoffmann. It has gone through extended lees ageing of 7.5 years; 80% were fermented in 3rd fill large German oak barrels. Only 1700 bottles were made.

Susy Atkins MW for Decanter, 01 Feb 2021

What a sight! This wine’s pristine meringue mousse bulges beautifully with fine seamless froth. The initial scent is a subtle citrus aroma, gently unfolding with pine nut and cinnamon hints. Sip this wine and the bubbles are finer than sherbet and straight away there’s a stunning saline lemony thrill, perfectly poised as a feather on a tightrope with surging finesse on the length. Remember how down everyone was on the 2012 vintage in Great Britain? This is absolutely champion wine, a bright phoenix rising from those ashes. It’s deeply compelling with a moreish subtle savoury mushroom tint evolving on the length. And while this wine is drinking beautifully right now - if you have the patience, it is seriously age worthy and I’d love to sip a glass in 2028 - if there’s any left - to experience even greater hidden depths. To summarise, the balance is amazing, this is a historic wine that proves that even in dark years, Britain can deliver some of the world’s finest fizz. And I love most of all the sense of spiralling complexity lingering into focussed fresh finish, like a firework in a poem.

Quotes

Rose gold colour that’s attractive and delightful. Wow! Peach blossom and plump strawberries fill the aroma with a sparkly sprinkle of fresh ginger. Elegance is the first word that comes to mind on tasting. The perfectly judged dosage gives the fruit fulmess and poise, with a deliciously dry finish that sings itself into a memorable whisper as it finally departs. This rosé is a thrilling tingle of zingy flourishing red fruit and finesse. Stunning.

Quotes

Rich and ravishing! Take a moment to admire the satin mousse that expands upward from this magnificent wine, it’s about as enticing as fine fizz gets. Engage your nose and the wine instantly radiates rich aromas of sweet almonds, hazelnuts, peaches and raspberries with a sense of proportion, intrigue and balance. Now sip it. Fulness on the palate is the first broadcast from this bubbly, with expansive appley and nectarine dimensions twirling around a blade of pink grapefruit and a vibrant, lingering, harmonious retreat. In one word: excellent.

England meets Sancerre in this chiselled luxuriant liquid excellence

A creamy notion of hazelnut is suggested on the nose. The palate comes in with that same, almost emollient, creaminess. It presents an ideal counterpoint to the inherent freshness of the palate. An oaked style of Bacchus, this still has the grass, nettle and elderflower highlights so typical of this variety. The body is slender, and the finish is long with lemon and dry.
